Regarded as one of the most influential people in India advertising, Agnello Dias is the mighty pen behind several famous campaigns, from his work on The Times of India and Mumbai Mirror to Nike and Airtel.

Popularly known as Aggie, Dias began his advertising career in 1989 and after working with several local and international agencies (Dart, Interpublicity, Lowe, Leo Burnett and JWT) he co-founded Taproot India with his creative colleague Santosh Padhi.

In a career spanning over 30 years, he has worked on a host of Indian and multinational clients, and his name features in almost every award book from the One Show, Clio and Cannes to the D&AD, Asia Pacific Ad Fest, New York Festival, the Times Asia-Pacific Awards and, of course, Goafest where he has been Jury Chairman several times.

In 2007, he made history by winning India’s first-ever Grand Prix with Times of India’s Lead India campaign at Cannes and the first-ever Titanium-Integrated Lion, with JWT India being the network’s top performer at the festival. He is also known for creating the only Indian TV commercial to get four in-book at D&AD.

Pakya film, Lead India campaign, India vs India film featuring Amitabh Bachchan, and Aman ki Asha campaign for Times of India, I am Mumbai and Hated by some for Mumbai Mirror, Change the game campaign for Pepsi, Traffic film for Nike, Har ek friend zaroori hota hai for Airtel, Born Glamorous for Bombay Times, Airtel Wynk campaign among others.
