I was fired from my first nurse practitioner role due to difficulties in fully synthesizing patient information to further connect this information cohesively preventing me from formulating an appropriate assessment and plan. The challenges were compounded by insufficient mentorship, a lack of constructive feedback, and unprofessional behavior from colleagues, including the medical director, who humiliated me and questioned my education and clinical abilities. This experience taught me to trust my intuition, maintain self-confidence despite adversity, and recognize the importance of supportive leadership. It ultimately inspired my passion for mentoring nursing students and nursing professionals, ensuring they receive the guidance, education, and resources needed to succeed in their careers. The purpose of this vide is to uplift and inspire those nurses who have been overlooked, maltreated, or lack the self-confidence to persevere despite obstacles.
