Smallholder Farmer Agricultural Development Division of the ARC was established in 1995 and came into full operation in 1996. It was initiated by Minister of Agriculture after having realized that Smallholder Farmers were facing many challenges related to production practices such as lack of proper knowledge on agronomic practices, absolute farm machinery, lack of funds to purchase production and access to information.
