The Institute of Art and Design, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, organized a special program on Defence Day to pay homage to the war heroes of Pakistan. The event included a vibrant art exhibition and a symbolic walk by students and faculty to salute the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country. The program was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Khalil-ur-Rehman Khoumbati, Vice Chancellor, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, and Guest of Honour Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jariko, Registrar, University of Sindh, Jamshoro.
In his inspiring address, Prof. Dr. Khalil-ur-Rehman Khoumbati emphasized that Defence Day is not just a remembrance of past victories but also a reminder of the nation’s responsibility to remain united and resilient. He appreciated the creative contributions of the students, noting that art is a powerful medium to preserve the memory of martyrs and instill patriotism in the younger generation. He further stated that the symbolic walk organized by the Institute of Art and Design reflects the spirit of unity and gratitude that every Pakistani must hold for those who defend the country.
Guest of Honour, Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jariko, also spoke on the occasion, highlighting the importance of engaging youth in meaningful activities that combine creativity with national values. He appreciated the efforts of the faculty and students for organizing both the art exhibition and the walk, saying that such initiatives strengthen the connection of students with history while encouraging them to uphold values of bravery and service.
