For those who like our collaborations with other YouTubers, here is another one with our good friend Yappy Beeman. We have so much fun when any of us guys get together to do a video and I wish I could share the whole experience with you, but the videos would be so long you'd think you were watching Gone With The Wind or something. As it is, I cut this video down from two hours of footage. I really like exploring when I'm off on these road trips and I often find interesting subject matter for both photography and videography. It's sometimes difficult to know how to showcase it in an interesting way or to give you the real feel of a place but I do my best. I hope the photos added a little flavor of Butler and the surrounding area to the video.

This master bath bee hive removal was done in April in the little town of Butler, AL. This was pretty close to a halfway point between Yappy and me which made it a no brainer for us to meet up on it. I couldn't find anyone closer to these folks for this job. I won't recap here but toward the end of the video I give my opinion on this situation.

The reality show mentioned in this video is the second one I've been involved with trying to produce and I think the third for Yappy. On that particular attic job three other "cut out" guys had been there over the previous couple of years none of them had been unable to locate the hive. One guy had even cut a giant hole in the bedroom wall beneath where we were working only to find insulation. This was in a huge mansion. It took Yappy and me about twenty minutes to locate the hive and figure out how to get to the bees. They had built inside a dormer on the back roof slope above the master bedroom. The only way in was through the back of the dormer from inside the attic. It was a pretty big hive and fairly defensive. This was TV gold to the producer who we were working with. He was so giddy about this reality show gold and Yappy was just the kind of high energy he was looking for. We did so many retakes though I was ready to be home halfway through the second day. I was worn slap out and I think Yappy was too.

This wasn't our first go around with reality shows. Yappy was involved many years ago with a show starring ‪@JPthebeeman‬ and Shawee. He also recently worked on one about crash up derbies. So far none of them have made it to the big time but my first one made it to the desk of CMT with one other show out of over ninety that were being pitched at that time. When they called to tell me they had decided on the other show they were blow away when I expressed relief. They were so sure about the potential for the success of the show they had already been working on products to merchandise off of it's popularity. Over the six months of that process I had met some of the reality show stars from Swamp People and Duck Dynasty and had discovered how very little anonymity they have as well as how little most of them are paid. I found that unless their show makes several seasons, they don't make the big bucks and even then, the money isn't great unless you reach super stardom somehow. Some cast members aren't even paid for a first season. I didn't want the hassle this might create for my family at that time and therefore was really pretty happy when they declined our show. Here we are a few years later and still, no one knows who we are. Living the dream...

Oh, and Mr. Ed got to do a one-off episode on Animal Planet where they made him look like and absolute angel. That show did actually air.
