July 1942. 25 US airmen aboard eight warplanes prepare to embark on one of the most dangerous aviation missions ever conducted, part of Operation Bolero - a daring bid to fly aircraft across the North Atlantic’s perilous “Snowball Route” to join the war in Europe.

Estimates suggest ten percent of Bolero aircraft won’t make it. But as the mission gets underway, the reality quickly becomes far worse than anybody could have predicted.

Somewhere in the frozen skies between Greenland and Iceland, the entire squadron goes missing.

On base, commanders demand answers. Had they been caught in a snowstorm? Shot down by the Germans? But there had been no distress calls, and search parties came back empty-handed. No wreckage. No oil slicks. No bodies.

Somehow, the unit had vanished into thin air…
