Since our quick pic of the Cleveland rolls on the back of our Bush truck we had many of you reach out and ask about the pump system we roll with. This unit, along with many other items that our department are lucky enough to have including our Deconinator and our Re-Breakable door featured in the recent "Forcable Entry" video, were all custom designed and built by Mr Dennis Munchof of Munckhof Mfg so we thought who better to explain it than the man himself!

The 1st OUT

The 1st Out machine is a high pressure, low volume system
designed as a versatile tool for initial attacks, brush fires, lightning
strikes and patrolling hot spots.

Small enough to fit into a short bed pickup, yet with enough
power to make a serious impact on a fire scene. 1st Out is an
extremely useful tool for any interface area where speed is
crucial and resources are often limited.

The pump is a triple diaphragm type, impervious to tank mix
products and capable of producing 50lt/min at over 500PSI. This
is enough pressure to remove needles, leaves and brush with the
straight stream, effectively creating a light fire guard without
labour intensive digging. This low volume system will allow for
over 20 minutes of straight streaming water before requiring fill.

The hose reel is loaded with 250 feet of hose. The Gauntlet
series hose is rated to 3000PSI, and has a rugged covering that
can withstand dragging around rocks and snags.

The frame is a modular design for versatility. Use our 600L tank,
connect to an existing rig, or have us create something custom.

The hose reel is mechanically powered by the motor and can
be activated by pressing the return button on the control
panel, or by using the remote. The powerfull reel can be
used to assist the operator while moving through rough and
steep terrain.

The 1st Out is equipped with a draft type suction system. By
taking high pressure water from the pump and shooting it
through a venturi, this machine can pull water from up to 15ft
below and fill its 600 litre tank in less than 7 minutes. Supplied
are 25 feet of 1 1/2” hose with a basket strainer and float.

All controls are centrally located at the end of the machine,
and are clearly labeled to make using the machine intuitive.
A battery disconnect ensures that the battery doesn’t drain
while not in use. The auxiliary port allows for connection with
garden hose thread for further utility.

As a group of Rural Volunteer Firefighters, our Fire Department has built our firefighter training from both old and new tactics in the fire service and adapted them to fit the realities of equipment, manpower, cost and what our community requires.
