Few triad gangsters are as notable in the modern world as Wan Kuok Koi, otherwise known as 'Broken Tooth Koi', who formerly led a triad known as the 14K - the arch rivals of China's biggest organised crime group, the Sun Yee On. Throughout his life, Wan has seen it all - slum life, violence, a world of underground crime, prison time, and plenty of notoriety in the public eye. While he has taken something of a step back from the tumultuous world of violence that exists in China's dark underbelly, he is still involved in crime to this day, and often finds himself in the news.

Where does this titan of the triads' story begin, however? How did a young boy growing up on the streets of Macau come to be one of the most successful and notorious gangsters in modern Chinese history? This is a multi decade spanning journey that will see us investigate gang warfare, drug trafficking and more.
