Customization can easily add $50,000 or more, especially if you opt for terraces, handcrafted furniture, lofts, or complete kitchens and bathrooms.

But here’s the tradeoff: unlike many mass-produced campers, these wooden wagons are built to last up to 30 years with proper care. And when something does need repair, replacing a wood panel or floorboard is far cheaper than fixing fiberglass or aluminum shells.

Of course, wooden construction comes with risks—such as water leaks from plumbing or hidden moisture that could lead to rot, pests, or mold. Yet, for those who invest in maintenance, the reward is a home that feels natural, sustainable, and unlike anything else on the road.
