The 1639 Story: Slavery & Freedom in Wilmington, Delaware

Описание к видео The 1639 Story: Slavery & Freedom in Wilmington, Delaware

This month, August 2019, marks the 400th Anniversary of the first known arrival of enslaved Africans to what has now become the United States of America.

Inspired by the New York Times’ 1619 Project, this is Wilmington, Delaware’s story: The 1639 Story. A story of slavery and freedom in the small “First State” with a strong divide, and the city that would play host to some of the strongest advocates in the abolishment of slavery.
