Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be installing Roadmaster's 12-volt outlet kit, part number RM-9332.This 12-volt outlet kit is going to allow you to plug in any of your automobile accessories that use 12 volts. This includes phone chargers, braking systems, or any of your other accessories. The kit come with a mounting bracket, as well as the outlet itself and all the wiring you need to plug it up. You can plug it up directly to battery power, which will allow it to be functional all the time even when the vehicle is off or if you'd like, you can use the provided fuse tap that comes in the kit and hook it into a fuse that only has power when it's in the accessory or run position. This will give you a lot of different options for however you want this fuse. One example where you might want it for when it's only in the accessory or run position is for aftermarket seat heaters. This way when you turn your vehicle off, you don't have to worry about remembering to turn your seat heater off because the outlet will go dead once you turn your key off.

This way you don't have to worry about those seat heaters draining down your battery, or you could have it plugged up to your battery all the time if you're going to use it for a flat tow setup for example. You can plug in your braking system and the key can be off and your braking system will still get power from the 12-volt outlet. It has an inline fuse on the power side, which gives you a maximum of 20 amps at this outlet. We'll begin our installation by taking a piece of air line or any kind of fish line that you want to use, metal coat hangers work really well and we're going to route that through our firewall so that way we've got a way to pull our wiring through for our 12-volt kit. We're just going to prepare that so we're ready to use it when we need it.Okay, in here at the lower left corner on the driver's side, you'll find a small grommet where you can poke your fish line through. We're just going to poke that through.

Then we'll come on the other side and we'll just pull it on through. Since we're going to be using our outlet for a braking system to be towed and our flat tow set up, we're going to be mounting it pretty tucked away back here in the lower left. We're going to mount that using the self-tapping screws that come provided with the kit.Now that we've got our connector mounted, we're going to take our wiring, we're going to run it through the connector, we're going to pull the wiring all the way through, and then we'll push our outlet in into it and that'll hold it in place. We'll now take the wiring and we're going to use some electrical tape, we're going to connect it to our fish wire and this will just make it easier for us to pull that wiring through and get it outside. We'll now pull our fish wire through our grommet, we'll make sure we get all of our wiring pulled all the way through. We're just going to take our wiring and run it right along the back following our factory wiring across to our battery.

Here on this side, we are going to need to make some modifications to our little harness here end, to get it hooked up to our battery. We're going to cut off both of these ends and replace them with larger ring terminals as this is too small to work with ours and the spade terminal is made for hooking up to the fuse box but we're going to be hooking directly to the battery. We're going to cut it as close as possible because our wiring length is pretty close to just enough. We'll strip back each one, then we're going to crimp on a ring terminal onto each end. We'll then hook our ground wire up to the ground side and you'll know this is the ground wire because it doesn't have the fuse. We'll then reinstall the nut, and then we're going to hook our power wire up over to our power side.

We're using a 10 millimeter socket for both of those nuts.We can now go back and clean up our wiring. We're just going to zip tie it up to any of our factory wiring harnesses that we see running along there, just to make the wires nice and neat. That completes our installation of Roadmaster's 12-volt outlet kit on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
