Above all, be safe, this is gasoline and it's flammable so don't be stupid.

1) Remove safety cover clips. You pry the inner pin down and can then pull the whole thing out.
2) Remove easy side of the filter which has clips you just pinch and pull off
3) Remove hard side, by pushing the black end as close to the filter as you can, and pressing it up to keep it against the attachment and slide it off. (I had to ask for help for step 3)

Tips: have rags, have the ends of the new filter handy to quickly put over the old filter.
