COLM MEANEY, best known as Chief Miles O'Brien on STAR TREK DEEP SPACE NINE sits down for an interview to discuss his newest gangster film, DUTCHESS, a possible return to that iconic uniform, and the future of Irish film.

'Duchess', a small-time crook, tries to enter the treacherous underworld of diamond trafficking and ends up left for dead when a deal goes wrong. Determined to seek retribution, she launches into an unwavering pursuit for vengeance. The film stars Charlotte Kirk as Scarlett Monaghan / Duchess, Philip Winchester as Robert McNaughton, Hoji Fortuna as Billy Baraka, Stephanie Beacham as Charlie, Sean Pertwee as Danny Oswald and Meaney as Frank Monaghan.

But Meaney has been an amazing ambassador for Irish film for a long time, long before he had any real mainstream success in American television with Deep Space Nine, Hell on Wheels, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. His work in the Barrytown trilogy (the Commitments, The Snapper and The Van) is a great representation of modern Ireland, and more importantly, Meaney is excited to see and support Irish language film, which is now garnering some global success.

During the #interview, Meaney delves into his influences as a child, growing up politically, starting his career with the 7:75 theatre and creating political works of art, and eventually how Margaret Thatcher ruined everything. More importantly, if STAR TREK LEGACY were to ever get off the ground, would he don the rolled up sleeves of O'Brien again?
