The Intergenerativity project – Moments and Memories

The Intergenerativity Project (TIP) is the first venture of the newly formed not-for-profit Intergenerational Schools International (ISI), whose purpose is to promote intergenerative learning and health locally and globally. ISI builds on the success of The Intergenerational School (TIS). For fifteen years in Cleveland, TIS has been a transformative model of lifelong learning positively impacting costs and qualities associated with educating children and creating cognitively enriching experiences for learners of all ages, including persons with dementia. TIS has received national and international awards and extended the intergenerational school model to a total of three Cleveland schools and through collaborations around the world.

TIP utilized multiage storytelling across multiple platforms to convene a global conversation around education and health. TIP combines a bias for action towards the future with a rich appreciation for history and deep reflection on the present. TIP expanded upon the Story Bridge Method, a proven technology of personal story sharing, performance creation, and community dialogue. Three energizing and well-attended primary performances occurred on May 26th, 2016. TIP also created multi-media products (theater, visual arts, dance, video, and photographs) to further disseminate the messages of empowered intergenerational learning and community building.
