G'day Guys and Gals!

In todays video I take my 2023 Suzuki Jimny Jb74 out to Kenilworth forestry to test out the latest modifications. I have modified my Suzuki Jimny over the last few months to make it more capable off-road. I have added a 2inch lift kit and some 235/75r15 tyres and larger alloy rims.

The Suzuki Jimny Jb74 is an incredible 4x4 due to its short wheel base and live axle coil sprung suspension. With the addition of the Suzuki all grip traction control system the Suzuki Jimny Jb74 is a weapon off-road.

All of the tracks I tested the Jimny on today where very steep, shaily and rocky. Lots of tree roots and ruts to negotiate as well. A lot of people ask if the Suzuki Jimny is good off-road and in this video I show you just how capable it is. The Jimny is a confident off-roader with loads of articulation from the live axles and coil sprung suspension. The traction control works really well to brake spinning wheels and transfer the drive to the wheel on the ground to maintain drive through challenging obstacles.

The tyres I'm running on my Suzuki Jimny are the Maxxis Razr A/T, they are an aggressive all terrain tyre. For this trip I lowered the tyre pressure in the Jimny to 15PSI which seemed to work really well for the rocky, steep terrain. If the terrain got any more challenging I could lower the tyre pressures even more to bag the tyres out and increase the footprint.

The Suzuki Jimny has been around for a very long time. Originating from its ancestor the Suzuki Sierra it has gradually transformed into this modern day legend that we see today in the JB74. The Jb74 now has LED headlights, touch screen infotainment system with android auto and apple car play. It has front and rear live axles with coil sprung suspension. It runs a 4wd transfer case with selectable low range for off-roading. The Suzuki Jimny has been updated into an amazing modern 4wd that you can take on adventures wherever the trails may take you.

In todays video I head out into Charlie Moreland to tackle some 4wd tracks and to test out my Suzuki Jimny and some of the new modifications that I have fitted. I have recently fitted a 2 inch ironman4x4 suspension lift and some king offroad wheels with Maxxis Razr AT 235/75r15 tyres. I test the vehicle out over various different terrains like steep rocky trails, mud, clay, hill climbs, axle twisters and washouts. This test shows just how well the modifications have improved the Suzuki Jimny's off-road performance.

In the Suzuki Jimny it has the All Grip 4x4 traction control system. I was able to test this traction control system out multiple times on this trip and it works very effectively. It uses the wheel speed to track the wheels rotations. When it sees a wheel spinning out of control in the air with no forward drive it will use the ABS system to brake the wheel individually. What this does is transfers drive to the wheel that is on the ground and give you forward momentum through the obstacle. I found this system very effective when the vehicle flexed out and lost traction.

In my Suzuki Jimny I lowered my tyre pressures down to 15PSI for this trip. In the Kenilworth forestry there is a lot of steep rocky trails. By lowering the tyre pressures we can increase the footprint of the tyre and enable it to absorb bumps a lot better. In the Suzuki Jimny 15PSI seems to be a good tyre pressure for these types of trails. The Maxxis Rarr AT tyres performed really well on these steep Rocky trails. The provided loads of traction and didn't chip or puncture.

I am really happy with how the Suzuki Jimny JB74 has performed so far. It has been a lot of fun building and testing it off-road. Each modification has improved the off-road and on-road performance. There is a small sacrifice in power to run the larger tyres but it is well worth it for the increased off-road performance. So I guess the real question is the Suzuki Good Off-road? Well I believe the Suzuki Jimny was built for off-road use and this is what makes it so damn special. A lot of other vehicles on the market today aren't specifically built with off-road use in mind. The Jimny however is a thoroughbred Tough off-roader 4x4. Its heritage goes back a long time and how many mates do you know that have told you a great story about a Suzuki Sierra, Lj80, Lj50 or Jimny. They are really fun 4wd's and give you a smile every time you jump behind the wheel.

My favourite type of 4wding is explorative. I enjoy just picking an area and exploring to see what I can find. I don't mind if its easy or hard 4wding as long as I'm out in the bush Ill be happy. The Suzuki Jimny Jb74 is great!
