I thought there’d be more noticeable changes since, in my experience, garter stitch tends to grow a lot. But aside from a bit of extra length, not much has changed. It was still worth blocking, though, because it feels more relaxed overall and has a nicer drape now. 🤩

For blocking, I wet-blocked the lighter section and steam-blocked the colourful part. I was a bit nervous that the saturated purple from the hand-dyed yarn might bleed into the rest of the sweater. Turns out, my worries were unnecessary—some of the darker yarn accidentally got wet, and there wasn’t any bleeding at all! 😍

I really wanted a technique that would showcase all the colors in the yarn cake. Since the gradient has these amazing, long color sections, mosaic knitting felt like a better fit than traditional stranded colorwork—otherwise, I’d still be in the blue section by the time I completed the chart! 🤭
