Swatching Gansai Watercolours from Choosing Keeping - The Autumn Palette

Описание к видео Swatching Gansai Watercolours from Choosing Keeping - The Autumn Palette

In this video, I'm swatching a set of gansai watercolours from Choosing Keeping - a beautiful stationery store in central London.

The set includes 20 non-toxic paints which are made in Japan. Gelatine glue is used as the binder so these watercolours aren't vegetarian friendly. Except for the name of the paint and a short description (used in this video) on the store's website, there's no other information available about these paints.

I found that I needed to use a different mindset when swatching these paints - they didn't flow on the page as easily as traditional watercolours and I needed to use more water to keep them going. I added some water to the pans after a few swatches to make the process easier.

The colours in this set work well with each other which is great as no colour mixing is required to create a cohesive palette. Once dry, the colours will lose the saturation slightly which is normal for watercolours.

I hope you enjoy the video 🙂
