COP27 intensified the conversation around the just energy transition and the need for alternative energy sources to support the move from fossil fuels toward a greener, cleaner, more sustainable, and just future. This is a future where all of us have access to resources in a just and equitable way, including energy.

🌍 Getting there requires us to take the first steps toward understanding the impact of energy production and usage on the environment in Africa. And, breaking down the concepts of energy use and empowering you to initiate and lead discussions relating to energy.

In this workshop, we take it Back2Basics to unpack and understand the current state of energy in Africa, the innovative solutions being developed to create a more sustainable future, discuss what energy justice looks like as well as the challenges faced by developing nations, and explore the potential solutions to ensure a just energy transition.
