Constant use for 7 months still working well, good for old dog.
This is awesome. Our almost 14 year old smooth collie uses it daily in Western Washington state this entire past winter. I bought it almost 7 months ago and it’s been on and working the whole time. She is old and frail but still likes to be outside at times in the day to lord over her territory and bark at what she thinks might be the UPS delivery person, she can nap on this is the daytime. Due to doggie dementia she does get a lot of anxiety especially at night, but she is so cozy and comfy on this bed she sleeps very well. If she dose get up to potty and pace around a bit, she’s fine she goes back in on the warm bed and settles right back down. We also set up a heat lamp in there (also thank goodness for Blink camera in her doghouse to check on her!) so she is very comfy even sleeping in her dog house down to 30 degrees. This is in her doghouse in a protected area, the floor of the dog house is large enough that the side has about 6-7” where I fold up a blanket. She can then scoot off it partially if she is too warm. I had huge worry for her when she started with the night time anxiety and pacing /panting all night. After many sleepless nights on both our parts we finally got this figured out how everyone can sleep at night and the bed is key. Also, yes, anti-anxiety prescription. The bed is soft and cozy, not too soft that a feeble old doggie can’t get up though. I curled up On it in her house for a test when it was new and I can attest that it is comfy. For sure buy this if your elderly dog needs a soft warm place to sleep, especially if they like to be outside. I cannot speak to it being chew proof, she does not chew and never has so not a worry of mine. The cord is wire wrapped to protect it. It is holding up to “softening” of the bed by scratching/pawing. I love this bed and I know our old girl does too.
