Conventional Oil: Also known as mineral oil, conventional oil is derived from crude oil. It's the most basic type of engine oil and is suitable for older engines or vehicles with lower mileage.
Synthetic Oil: Synthetic oil is artificially made and offers superior performance compared to conventional oil. It provides better protection against engine wear, performs well in extreme temperatures, and lasts longer between oil changes.
Synthetic Blend Oil: This type of oil is a mixture of conventional and synthetic oils. It offers some of the benefits of synthetic oil at a lower cost, making it a popular choice for vehicles that require extra protection but don't need full synthetic.
High Mileage Oil: Formulated specifically for vehicles with over 75,000 miles, high mileage oil contains additives that help rejuvenate aging seals and reduce oil consumption and leaks.
Viscosity Grade: Viscosity refers to an oil's resistance to flow. Engine oils are graded based on viscosity, commonly represented by numbers like 5W-30 or 10W-40. The first number (e.g., 5W) indicates the oil's viscosity in cold temperatures, while the second number (e.g., 30 or 40) represents viscosity at operating temperatures. Lower viscosity oils flow better in cold conditions, providing better engine protection during startup, while higher viscosity oils offer better protection at high temperatures.
Specialized Oil: There are also specialized oils designed for specific engines or driving conditions, such as high-performance engines, diesel engines, or racing applications. These oils often have unique formulations to meet the demands of their intended use.
