SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The life coaching industry in Utah has been under intense scrutiny after the arrest of convicted child abusers Jodi Hildebrandt and Ruby Franke.

Since then, Kevin Franke has been trying to convince lawmakers to add more rules to life coaching. However, he’s worried changes to an upcoming bill would make it harder for the state to keep track of who is giving questionable advice.

For the most part, Franke said he and the senator drafting the bill are on the same page and they share the same concerns. However, he said the bill likely won’t even mention life coaches, and he believes that’s going to hurt the state’s ability to find the coaches giving harmful advice.
