This video describes a difficult night I spent in a hut in the woods, once a hazelnut orchard but now completely abandoned and in ruins.

When I arrived at the hut in the freezing cold, it was extremely dirty and unusable, filled with rat droppings. I cleaned every nook and cranny with a hand broom, throwing out the dirt. One of the most unsettling moments of the whole time was a rat scurrying past my feet.

The roof was about to collapse; I repaired the broken tiles. There wasn't even a ladder to get inside, so I made my own out of wood. Because there was no stove, I had to contend with the cold at night; I tried to keep warm by lighting a fire in a tin can inside the hut.

As the night progressed, the silence of the forest gave way to dog barking. After a while, I clearly heard wolf howling. I looked out the window in fear, then went outside and tried to scare the wolves away by making strange noises.

Despite being extremely dirty and dilapidated, this cabin allowed me to experience survival in nature, confronting fear, and the feeling of solitude in its truest form.
