Very clean early nickel silver production SA dagger made by Aesculap. This maker is known for its painted or lacquered grips and the dark etching on the blade. All nickel silver production for the grip eagle, SA roundel, cross guards, scabbard fittings, and hanger. The typical lacquered grip by Aesculap has the eagle and roundel perfectly inlaid. The fit to the cross guards is perfect. The bottom cross guard is Gau marked “Sw.” A very beautiful brown anodized steel scabbard with some of the factory lacquer still present. All 4 screws are still in place. Very clean steel blade with cross grain on both sides. Some of the typical black darkening is still visible in the motto. Very clean, sharp, and black Aesculap logo etched on the back. The dagger is complete with an early production SA dagger hanger made from brown leather and nickel silver parts. Working snap clip with no markings, as it should be.
