A breast cancer diagnosis and treatment is overwhelming. After the shock of diagnosis sinks in, new challenges arise: what do you need to help you navigate this challenging season? On this week's episode of Talks with Dr Shafer, Dr Shafer sits down with Kelly Rovetto, Medical Device Representative with a long career helping hospitals procure the equipment needed to help recover post-diagnosis who suddenly found herself diagnosed with breast cancer and overwhelmed. Kelly knew that there must be a better way to navigate getting what patients need after diagnosis, and helping loved ones easily access a "wish list" that will help make life a little easier for their loved one with breast cancer. Refemme was born, and with it, Kelly is building more than a website to help you understand what items you may need to help you navigate chemo, surgery and more. Kelly is also working to provide a bank of helpful articles for patients to help them and their loved ones understand the process of important tasks such as getting authorization for medical devices they may need. Kelly hopes to help her community feel supported and beautiful as they navigate their breast cancer journey.
