4. SOUNDBITE: (French) Frederic Mailliez, doctor who gave the first aid to Princess Diana:
"There were lots of people taking pictures behind, lots of flashes, and someone behind me told me 'the victims speak English'. They did not tell me who they were. But they told me 'the victims speak English, talk to them in English'. So I start talking to her in English, telling her comforting words, telling her I was a doctor, that I had called for help, that the ambulances would arrive soon and that everything would be fine."

6. SOUNDBITE: (French) Frederic Mailliez, doctor who gave the first aid to Princess Diana:
"She never recovered a sufficient level of consciousness to be able to say something. She never said anything to me, no word I could understand."

8. SOUNDBITE: (French) Frederic Mailliez, doctor who gave the first aid to Princess Diana:
"I can confirm that from the moment I was inside the Alma tunnel and I had a wider picture of the scene, I can affirm that the paparazzi did not act inappropriately. I did my job. I helped the victims. I never asked the paparazzi to help me, but they never prevented me from having access to the victims. They never prevented me from doing my job. They never asked me to turn her head to have a better angle. So they did their job, by taking a lot of pictures. I did my job but they did not bother me. I have nothing to reproach them about."

10. SOUNDBITE: (English) Frederic Mailliez, doctor who gave the first aid to Princess Diana:
"I don't have any complaints against the paparazzi. They did their job, they took a lot of pictures. I did my job. I never asked them to help me. They never asked me to move her head or they never hampered me doing my job. So that was fine and I don't have any complaints about the paparazzi while I was there under the tunnel."

12. SOUNDBITE: (English) Frederic Mailliez, doctor who gave the first aid to Princess Diana:
"I just remember her last moment because I was there and I was the witness of her last moment. She looked very peaceful. I really think that she died and she felt as if she was falling asleep. She didn't suffer, she fell asleep and she died like that. And I really want everybody to remember her in her last moments as a peaceful moment and not as a tragic and suffering moment."

14. SOUNDBITE: (English) Frederic Mailliez, doctor who gave the first aid to Princess Diana:
"The internal haemorrhage that killed her was so massive, was so severe that she could not survive even if the accident had happened just in front of the hospital, there were almost no chance for her to survive."

STORYLINE:
Ten years have elapsed since Princess Diana's fatal car crash in Paris, but the first doctor who treated on site remembers it as if it was yesterday.
Doctor Frederic Mailliez, who happened to drive by immediately after the accident in central Paris, gave first aid to the victims without realising he was treating Princess Diana.
In the days after Diana's death, blame was quickly cast on the photographers who had pursued her speeding Mercedes.
