Days 3 & 4 of Building a Tomcat Racer

On the third day of making a Tomcat Racer from a Land Rover Discovery 2, we stripped the chassis down and removed the powertrain out of the donor vehicle. As well as taking the engine and gearbox out, we also removed the empty fuel tank and any other parts that we didn't need, in anticipation for the chassis preparation. We see efforts from chief mechanic, Robin and his daughter Elaine!
Day 4 was a lot of grinding work and isn't quite as exciting as previous days but is a job that has to be done. We removed the now redundant out riggers and exhaust hanging points, along with the engine and gearbox mounts. After further investigation, we realised that we had to remove the rear spring cups as well, as we found rot in the rear of the chassis. All the grinding down of the chassis was done by Robin!
