Suspension and steering system of heavy vehicles | control arm/knuckle manufacturing process

Описание к видео Suspension and steering system of heavy vehicles | control arm/knuckle manufacturing process

In this video, a local mechanic is manufacturing the suspension and steering system that is mostly used in heavy vehicles like trucks, buses, etc. In America (USA), steering system of vehicles is also known as steering link or inner tie rod.

This essential part of the steering system has been manufactured in a local workshop/factory with very basic tools and utilities. Other names used for this component/part are steering wheel lever, control arm, control knuckle, etc. In our region, this is called steering goda, which looks like a very funny word.

The process starts with heating a hard iron rod in the furnace. The hot rod is shaped into the required shape and size with the help of a heavy-duty hammer. The holes on specific spots are made through the use of drills. The excess welding material is removed by grinding and other machines used for similar purposes. The manufacturer is capable of shaping the rod into this part for the use of any vehicle.
