Barnsley council offer 3 hr free parking on a Saturday, but ensure you have a ticket. I couldn't find a council car park, so ended up parking away from the town and walking back. The make up of the people in Barnsley town centre was as in Sheffield in the 1980s. It was possible to drive almost into the town centre. But my concern is they are like a frog being boiled in cold water, I see all the signs of what is happening in Sheffield coming to Barnsley,
