My point was that no, APs don't DC unless something else is goining on (landing in Hover mode, IIRC). This is a short video to prove that they don't automatically DC.

Up to 05:20, taxi, T/O and landing on taxi. Then I just played with a taxing F/A-18. Until 11:55, gear down and AP all on (except for AltAP); later no H in a couple of manoeuvres and gear up.
