Personally, this show was enjoyable from the first to the last second! The plot was interesting and well-executed, more so in the show than the movie. However, the dialogue more than makes up for what you lose for visuals in my opinion. Although bear in mind, you have to watch the anime first before the movie, or else you’re going to be beyond what I explain in this video.
Note: Future Goals List / Homework are the same thing, referring to the handout Shoko got in 4th grade, but failed to fill out, and thus caused her adolescence/puberty syndrome.
FAQ
1. Where do I watch the movie?
‘Unfortunately, the movie only had runs in theaters as well as during limited events on some streaming sites. The only way to watch the movie is to buy the blu-ray box set that comes with english subs for the movie as well as other bonus material, or to illegally watch on piracy sites that don't contribute to the original makers and producers of the anime!!’
2. Will there be a season 2 or new movie?
‘If you want my honest opinion, there is a slight chance, but we'll probably have to wait for more content from the light novels to come out, as there are only 10 out right now, where the first season adapted the first 5, and the movie adapts the 6th and 7th. However, it was commonly said that the movie covers the best arc in the story, so it is possible that the movie was intended to be the last adaptation. Furthermore, the movie was announced BEFORE the anime series even started releasing... Thanks for watching, sorry if you're not one to wait :P
3. Does Mai get with Sakuta? Does she die? Does she...?
'I've said it many times before, WATCH THE MOVIE!!!! Don't ruin the movie after you've spent time watching the anime!! If you want to spoil the move for yourself, I am sorry, but I won't go out of my way to do that for you here ;( ' DONT SPOIL IT FOR OTHERS, PEOPLE MIGHT WANT TO FIND ANSWERS TO THEIR QUESTIONS, AND ACCIDENTALLY SEE IT!!! Thank you!!
4. Does everything get repeated in the new timeline?
'Practically everything in season 1 was repeated, with exceptions to Sakuta meeting HS Shoko at the beach, and getting scars on his chest (they are gone now), and he was able to do everything without guidance from Shoko because of the 'dream effect', where he saw some of his past memories in his dreams, influencing him to do everything again including going to Minegahara High and falling in love with Mai. Hope this makes sense!!'
Futaba says in ep.8 she's never pulled an all-nighter before, but during Mai's arc, she and Sakuta were the only ones who remembered her because they didn't sleep :P
