Sandakphu (11,929 ft.) , the highest peak of West Bengal , India . Also Sandakphu or Sandakpur is known as a small hill helmet situated in Darjeeling with few homestay and hotels . More or less people goes to Sandakphu to summit West Bengal's top peak . Sandakphu is a popular tourist destination because of its high altitude trekking route and also for the seasonal wild flowers blooming and birding , for the Red Panda , charming cold atmosphere with the view of mountain ranges , the grand vistas of Mt. Everest range and Mt. Kanchanjunga range can be seen from here , four of the five highest peak in the world , Mt. Everest , Mt. Kanchanjunga , Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Makalu can be seen from its summit point . The peak is located at the edge of Singalila National Park on the border of India and Nepal . A Red Panda re-wilding centre situated at Gairibas .
The trekking routes towards Sandakphu inside the Singalila National Park begins from Manebhanjan , the gateway of Singalila National Park , has 3 stages .
1. Manebhanjan to Meghma via Chitrey
2. Chitrey to Gairibas via Tonglu & Tumling
3. Gairibas to Sandakphu via Kalipokhri & Bhikeybhanjan

Also You can go Sandakphu by car hired from Singalila Landrover Owner's Welfare Association from Maney Bhanjan . Other vehicles like personal or reserved car which are not hired from this association are not be allowed in Singalila National Park premises even also motor cycle is not allowed .

You can easily reach Manebhanjan from Siliguri , Darjeeling ,Kurseong , Kalimpong even also Gangtok by share or reserved car .

Yesterday we reach Tumling from Siliguri via Manebhanjan . Today in Morning we again started our journey towards Sandakphu via Gairibas , Kalipokhri & Bhikeybhanjan , it takes around 4 hours to reach . A Red Panda re-wilding centre situated at Gairibas . There are a holy lake situated at Kalipokhri . From Kalipokhri the road towards Sandakphu is divided by two , one is India route another one is Nepal route . Our driver takes Nepal route because it is short in distance . After Bhikeybhanjan we reach Sandakphu . There are some homestay , hotels and a GTA trekkers hut is available for fooding and lodging , some hotels situated in Nepal area . There are two view points and all of them covered by heavy snow .
