Breaking Free from Masking: Dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism

Описание к видео Breaking Free from Masking: Dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism

In this video, we dive deep into the concept of masking among neurodivergent individuals, specifically focusing on those with dyslexia, ADHD, and autism. Masking involves concealing one's true self to fit societal expectations, often leading to significant emotional and psychological consequences.

We explore Carl Jung's model of the psyche and how it relates to shadow integration. Jung, a pioneering psychologist, provides a framework for understanding the hidden parts of our personality and how acknowledging and integrating these parts can help reduce masking behavior. We Learn about recent research on masking and its effects on neurodivergent individuals, including a study that provides valuable insights into the consequences of masking.

We will take a look at the fear of being stigmatized and how it increases masking behavior. Ultimately, I hope that this video will help neurodivergent individuals understand what masking is doing to them and how to deal with it.
