How to care for your Bearpaw Boots | NeverWet Cleaning Kit

We know that most of you live in our Bearpaws. Whether it be running around town in our classic Elle, doing a little home gardening in our Loki slippers or even something a little more contemporary for a night out; all of our styles are made with the upmost quality and comfort. In order to extend the life of your Bearpaw shoes, it is important to clean and upkeep them.

Bearpaw makes it easy for you to care for your products with our cleaning kit. This kit features our exclusive NeverWet water and stain repellent, cleaner and conditioner, refresher mist and a cleaning brush made exclusively for our suede uppers.

Prep for Cleaning
It’s time to start cleaning your Bearpaw product! Before doing so, make sure that you are in a well ventilated area. Also, be sure to protect your cleaning surface with a towel or cloth.

How to Clean Suede Uppers
Step 1: Dampen the Shoes
To start off, dampen the entire shoe evenly to the seams with water. Using a soft cloth, start by gently spot cleaning the surface with water.
Step 2: Evenly and Gently Clean the Surface
Apply a minor amount of water and suede cleaner to the cloth. Then rub two pieces of the cloth against each other creating a lather. Do not pour shampoo directly onto your sheepskin items as this will create uneven and unwanted spots. Evenly and gently clean the surface with the lathered cloth. Then thoroughly rinse the shoe by using a wet, clean cloth.
Step 3: Allow the Product to Dry
Allow drying to occur naturally in a well-ventilated area. Avoid heat or direct sunlight. We do not recommend putting your sheepskin shoes in the washing machine. We recommend hand washing for best results. A quick tip to help your shoes keep their shape is to stuff the boot with paper towels while it dries.
Step 4: Buff the Leather
Once the shoe dries, buff the leather lightly with a clean suede brush to restore the nap of the leather fibers.
Step 5: Protect your Product
We always recommend that you pretreat your shoes before wearing them out for the first time. If your boots state that they are already treated with NeverWet, there is no need to treat them initially. However, once you notice a decline in performance, it is recommended you retreat with our NeverWet Repellent. After cleaning, be sure to spray an even coating of our NeverWet repellent to help protect against any future damage or stains. Let this coating set for 1 hour and your shoes are good to go!
