Nearly 500 people were arrested in London during protests supporting the banned group Palestine Action, just days after the Manchester synagogue terror attack.

Around 1,000 demonstrators gathered in Trafalgar Square and Whitehall, calling on the government to lift the ban. The Metropolitan Police confirmed 492 arrests, with many protesters being older individuals.

Police had urged organisers, Defend Our Juries, to cancel the event, warning it would stretch resources needed to protect Jewish communities after the attack.
