Small Trimming Plane: How to tune up and use (subtitled)

Описание к видео Small Trimming Plane: How to tune up and use (subtitled)

This is a way to master the trimming plane. You can cut it cleanly by flattening the sole of the plane body. It takes just a few minutes. This plane has a metal body, so once flattened, it can be used for a long time. And you will be able to adjust the blade with a little trick. It is better to use a mallet for adjustment. You can enjoy it when trimming the dowels and end grain misalignment. It's an inexpensive plane, but it works. I think it's good for the first plane to try out.

The model I used has a spare blade, so it is easy to use even for those who are not accustomed to sharpening.
Model: Kakuri Replacement Blade Type Hobby Plane
Blade size: 1.0mm thick 26.4mm wide
Never tried but might be used with a very similar Stanley Small Trimming Plane.

I made a hand saw guide which can be used as a shooting board to trim the end.

And then I made an accurate dowel jig using this hand saw guide. The jig needed to trim to the perfect length. You will see how I used the trimming plane at 12:43 of the video.
