CAPE to CAIRO - LEG 9

This series of flights takes us from the southernmost point of Africa to Cairo, to fulfil the dream of Cecil John Rhodes (1853-1902), a prominent English businessman, mining magnate, and politician in Southern Africa.

On this 9th leg of our journey, we will continue from Prieska Airfield (FAPK) to Kimberley (FAKM) following the Orange River of the Northern Cape via Prieska Airport 2 (FAQZ); Bateleur Airfield (FADT); the three vicinity Douglas Airfields (FAFZ); (FAFY); (FADC); Malabar Airfield (FAMF) to arrive via RNAV to Runway 20 at Kimberley Airport (FAKM).

Be sure to look out for the "Big Hole" Diamond mine, originally formed by human hands digging for diamonds during the 19th Century. At Kimberly, Cecil John Rhodes entered into a partnership with Barney Banarto and together made their wealth.

Their company was the precursor to the De Beers Diamond conglomerate of today.
