Touring Small Town Ontario: Haliburton Village (August, 2021)

A bit of a zig zag tour of Haliburton Village. Part of the Municipality of Dysart et al and Haliburton County, the village area shown in the video is one of the main commercial areas.

Founded on the lumber industry in the late 1880's, the area's economy now primarily evolves around seasonal tourism. Reminders of the region's rail history can be seen at various points in the video.

Haliburton Village is located 25 kilometres northeast of Minden and 230 KM northeast of downtown Toronto.

The A.J. Larue Arena, where we do U-turn in the video, has a street facing wall painted with murals of local sports heroes Bernie Nicholls, Ron Stackhouse, Matt Duchene, Cody Hodgson and Mike Bradley.
