A heartwarming watercolour painting capturing a quiet, intimate moment between a fox mother and her baby. The mother fox is resting and her baby nestles into her fur, radiating trust and comfort. Soft, earthy tones and delicate brushwork evoke a sense of warmth and natural serenity, highlighting the deep bond of maternal love in the wild. Gentle washes and subtle texture bring life to the fur, while the minimalist background keeps the focus on their quiet embrace.



Size: 18" x 18" on Canson cold pressed 140 lbs paper

Time: 14 hours not including drying time :)

Colours : burnt sienna, raw sienna, yellow ochre, ultramarine blue, pyroll red, black

Techniques include very watery loose first layer for the baby and mom, then add some colour while the paper is still wet. Dry brush darker layers, lift colour out for the eyes. Work lightest colours , than darkest areas then build up the mid tones.

Maggie captured this beautiful moment between mom and kit and it has inspired me to paint, it brought to me joy and peace, and hope you enjoy watching the process in time lapse.
