আগামী বছরের ফেব্রুয়ারিতে অনুষ্ঠিত হতে যাচ্ছে জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচন। এর আগেই ডিসেম্বরে ঘোষণা হতে পারে ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের তপশিল, এমনটাই জানিয়েছে নির্বাচন কমিশন। তবে নির্বাচনকালীন সরকার গঠনের সময় উপদেষ্টা পদে থাকবেন না স্থানীয় সরকার, পল্লী উন্নয়ন ও সমবায় মন্ত্রণালয় এবং যুব ও ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয়ের দায়িত্বে থাকা আসিফ মাহমুদ সজীব ভূঁইয়া। মঙ্গলবার যুক্তরাষ্ট্রভিত্তিক ‘ঠিকানায় খালেদ মুহিউদ্দীন’ শীর্ষক অনুষ্ঠানে এমন ইঙ্গিত দিলেন তিনি।
