광주공항은 광주광역시 광산구 신촌동에 있는 공항입니다.

공군 제1전투비행단과 같은 활주로를 사용하고 있기 때문에 비행기에 타고 택싱 중에 비행단에 주둔 중인 T-50, MD 500 등의 항공기들이 이륙 대기를 하고 있는 게 보이기도 한다. 그리고 미합중국 공군 제7공군 제607항공지원작전전대 파견대가 배치되어 있어 한미연합훈련 기간에는 F-22, F-15, F-35 등 미군 주력기들이 파견되곤 합니다.

이런 이유로 광주공항을 폐항하고 공군과 국내선을 모두 무안국제공항으로 옮기는 사업이 추진중입니다.

이곳은 김해국제공항, 대구국제공항, 청주국제공항, 원주(횡성)공항, 군산공항, 사천공항, 포항경주공항과 마찬가지로 군사 공항이므로 사진 밎 동영상 촬영이 엄격히 금지되어 있습니다. 이로 인해 광주공항에 도착하는 모든 항공사들이 창문 덮개를 내리라고 방송을 합니다.

공항에서 바로 지하철을 이용할 수 있기때문에 광주시의 주요지역으로 이동하기 매우 편리합니다. 광주시와 전라남도에는 여행할 곳이 많이 있습니다. 고속버스, 고속열차를 포함한 열차, 그리고 비행기를 적절히 섞어 여행계획을 만드시면 좋을 것 같습니다.

This is a military airport, just like Gimhae International Airport, Daegu International Airport, Cheongju International Airport, Wonju (Hoengseong) Airport, Gunsan Airport, Sacheon Airport, and Pohang-Gyeongju Airport, so taking photos and videos is strictly prohibited. As a result, all airlines arriving at Gwangju Airport broadcast that they are asked to lower their window covers.

It is very convenient to travel to major areas of Gwangju City because you can take the subway right from the airport. There are many places to travel in Gwangju City and Jeollanam-do. It would be good to make a travel plan by mixing express buses, trains including high-speed trains, and airplanes appropriately.
