Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on May 26 lashed out at the Congress for not wanting to attend the inaugural function of the new Parliament building by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by setting forth a Time Magazine article which debunked the narrative being presented by the Opposition parties. “The opposers should read this article and learn about the symbolism of the ‘Sengol’. In a way they are opposing their own leader, Pandit Nehru,” said Union Minister Puri. The ‘Time Magazine’ article of 1947 describes the meticulous and detailed Hindu Ceremony in the hours leading to India’s freedom and handing over power.
