When one traces the storied football journey of Aiden McGeady, it becomes clear that the Scottish-born winger has had quite a rollercoaster of a career. From a childhood spent at Busby Boys Club to technical management at Ayr United, McGeady’s career has spanned numerous clubs, continents, and controversies.
The Early Years
McGeady's love for football began at Busby Boys Club, a local youth team. His potential was evident early on, and he was courted by several English clubs. Still, his heart lay closer to home. Committing to Celtic in his early teens, McGeady quickly rose through the academy ranks alongside Charlie Mulgrew, a promising start that culminated in a Scottish Youth Cup win in 2003.
