Watchmen episode 6 takes us back in time as Angela Abar aka Sister Night takes her grandfather Will Reeves Nostalgia pills. Angela relives Will’s memories of the past and learns about her grandfather’s journey. The title ‘This Extraordinary Being’ is from Under the Hood by Hollis Mason, and this episode proved that William Reeves is Hooded Justice. This means Will was the costumed adventurer that started it all, and this is what caused history to change in the Watchmen universe.

In episode 6 we experience Will’s journey through flashbacks, and see how he ended up under the tree where Chief Judd Crawford died. This explains Judd’s hanging and gives us a lot to speculate about in relation to Lady Trieu’s plans. We also learn about the Cyclops group and their plans to incite violence in the black community in New York where Will was working as a cop.

Watchmen episode 6 also fills in a lot of details about the beginnings of the Minutemen. In the original comic we learned how this “heroes” influenced the events leading up to the squid attack in 1986. Hooded Justice was the inspiration for all the members of the Minutemen, but when he tried to fight back against the Cyclops they weren’t interested in helping.

HBO’s Watchmen takes place 33 years after the events of the graphic novel. Season 1 episode 6 stars actors Jeremy Irons, Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gosset Junior, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Yayha Abdul-Mateen II, Frances Fisher, Jean Smart, and more.

Watchmen on HBO will have Damon Lindelof for a showrunner. His most recent show was The Leftovers which also aired on HBO.

Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons is considered one of the greatest comic series of all time. Originally released as a 12 issue series from 1986 - 1987, it was collected as a trade paperback or graphic novel. It takes place in an alternate history where masked adventurers or superheroes exist. The Watchmen feature film was released in 2009 to mixed reviews. Fans of the graphic novel are hoping the HBO series will do the story justice.

HBO is releasing a new series that takes place in the Watchmen universe in present time. The events of the original Watchmen comics all happened, and events in the TV show have all been influenced by those events. Original characters created by Alan Moore and David Gibbons will be returning to play a role in the series at an older age. We also see a TV show inside the Watchmen TV show called American Hero Story: Minutemen. This is a callback to the Tales of the Black Freighter comic inside the original comic book series. We explain the new footage and easter eggs and what they might mean for the Watchmen universe in 2019.
