Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. at Universal CityWalk Orlando is themed around the hit movie “Forrest Gump,” and it’s filled with memorabilia and references to the film, you even get to do trivia. The Bubba Gump Shrimp chain was launched in 1995 by Viacom, aiming to capitalize on the success of the “Forrest Gump” movie. While shrimp is the star, the menu is diverse, offering Southern and Cajun cuisine, and even includes a gluten-free menu. The place may seem small from the outside, but it actually seats 500 guests in various dining rooms and bars. We kept turning corners and finding rooms filled with people. It was a lot. In front of the restaurant, you can find the famous bus stop bench and plaster casts of Forrest’s running shoes from the movie, perfect for a memorable photo. A lot of the drinks come with a free glass so be sure to pick that up on your way out.
