After hearing “Drowning in the Fire” during a prison outreach event, the members of Unbound were so moved by the raw honesty in Dust and Glory’s original version that they reached out with a handwritten letter. Dust and Glory replied with their blessing and shared the story behind the song’s first performance—sung in a homeless shelter by a former inmate still smelling of smoke and redemption.

Unbound reimagined the track as an uplifting gospel anthem, filled with rhythmic clapping, powerful choir harmonies, and bold celebration. This version doesn’t erase the grit—it amplifies the victory found within it. It’s the cry of someone rising from the ashes, this time surrounded by a community that believes in God’s power to redeem.
