The GN77KCE model is cut to the extremely popular NEX body shape, the NEX body shape is a scaled down jumbo shape which not only feels comfortable even to smaller players but also provides a huge sound with a prominent and clear low end. Rather than your standard spruce/rosewood or spruce/mahogany combination of woods which is widely used around this price point Takamine have opted for Hawaiian Koa. Koa is usually a wood saved for much higher priced guitars as it is a fantastic tone woods and revered as one of the best amongst top players, not only does it sound beautiful but it looks stunning and lets this model really stand out from the rest of the range. Joined to the body is your traditional mahogany neck which feels chunky yet comfortable in your hands.
