SEO is a waste of money. There, I said it. And I’m not the only one who feels this way. In fact, many successful businesses have reached the top of the search engine rankings without spending a dime on SEO.

If you’re thinking about investing in SEO, you might want to think again.

Welcome to Casey’s SEO, in this video, I’m going to share why SEO is a waste of money and what you should do instead.

Before I get started, let’s do a quick rewind, back to the part where I said SEO is a waste of money.

You might have been thinking, “Wait, didn’t he just say that SEO doesn’t work?” No, I never said SEO doesn’t work, I said it’s a waste of money.

Now hear me out. If you’re a small business with a limited marketing budget, SEO might not be your best bet. SEO is something that you should be doing in the long run but it takes time to get rankings and even years to be on the top, (depending on your niche).

Let's say, you only have $1000 to spend each month on your marketing budget. You would be better off spending your budget on content creation (aka sales pages).

By creating sales pages, you will still be using keywords that will drive traffic to your website someday, but you will be setting yourself up to convert more sales.

When you're starting, the only thing that matters is money. With that said, you could spend $500 on a sales page and $500 on ads to drive traffic to your site.

You can site by doing the basic SEO, adding an h1, a couple of h2s and interlinking, other than that there is no need to spend time finding backlinks or spending money optimizing your whole site.

If you stick with the basics, you could find 10 minutes a day to make sure your website is optimized and focus on sales pages and getting customers to purchase your product or service once they land on your website.

Another option would be to create a sales page, create a couple of videos and then run ads to those videos.
The idea is still the same though, don't spend extra money on SEO at first.

When it comes down to it, is SEO a waste of money? No, but I believe you can spend your money in other areas that will get you a better ROI.
