Three More Pakistani Nationals Arrested In Bengaluru, Living Under Fake Identities

Three more Pakistani nationals have been arrested in Bengaluru for living under false identities. Recently, Bengaluru rural police apprehended four individuals, including Rashid Ali Siddique, who was living under the name Shankar Sharma in the Jigani area. Based on their interrogation, police tracked down the three suspects in the Peenya area, who had illegally entered India eight years ago.
On Thursday, the Jigni police searched their home in Peenya and arrested Tariq Sayeed, his wife Anila Sayeed, and their 17-year-old daughter. After that Medical examinations were conducted, and they were presented in court, which granted police custody for ten days for further investigation.
With these arrests, the total number of Pakistani nationals apprehended in Chennai and Bengaluru has reached 11. State police and central agencies are investigating how many more individuals might be living under false identities.
Like Rashid Ali Siddique, Tariq Sayeed has also said that he has illegally entered India eight years ago with his family. Initially residing in Kochi and later in Bengaluru, he was promoting cult Sufism through the Mehdi Foundation’s YouTube channel.
According to police sources, Tariq Sayeed was living in Bengaluru as a Hindu under the name Sunny Chauhan, while his wife Anila was using the name Deepali Chauhan. Their daughter was also studying as a Hindu.
Investigations so far have confirmed that the Mehdi Foundation, for which the accused were conducting religious promotion, helped them find housing and provided financial assistance. Authorities are now examining whether the Mehdi Foundation played a role in illegally bringing these Pakistani nationals into India.
