PIQUA -- On Thursday, Piqua police served a search warrant at a former library in downtown Piqua. Piqua Police Chief Bruce Jamison said they found drugs inside, "no real surprise. We found heroin. We found cocaine and prescription drugs. We found marijuana and evidence of it being used here," he said. Authorities tell us the former library off West Greene Street is now a home for several tenants. Police say as of Thursday, no arrests were made because this is part of an onging investigation. Over 55 units responded to the raid -- because of the high risk of people who live there. Jamison told us authorities have responded to the location frequently, even arresting a bank robber there before. A man who told FOX 45 he is the owner of property said he rents out six rooms to people who need a second chance, "I typically rent to people who no one else will rent to. They've had problems in the past, and they've gotten better. But, sometimes they relapse," said Derek Scharsh. Scharsh and the other people living there were forced to the leave property because health officials condemned the property. Health officials say the property had unsanitary living conditions, fire hazards, bed bugs and other violations. No one can move back in until the violations are brought up to code.
