Denver’s HISTORY house

Denver, Colorado Station 3 has Unprecedented History, Cultural Significance, Dedicated Personnel, and even Ghost Stories - all within 400 square feet. It is DFD's only single-engine station with 4 person crews that run 24/7 and answer nearly 4.5k calls a year. The building is a historic landmark and remains the oldest active house in the department. DFD Station 3 is the first and only fire station in Denver to be staffed by all African American members until it was desegregated in 1957. The Station is located in the Five Points neighborhood and thus became known as "The Pride of the Points" as well as "in the Eye of the Storm" due to its unwavering commitment to providing a safe and secure place in the community. Today you see multiple new construction projects and revitalizations going on all around it. Due to its location, rich history, and diversity this station is considered a favorite among the firefighters. Members claim the station is haunted tracing back to an entire crew that perished in a hotel fire in 1895. HND might just agree.
